Teaching about Genetics

This course focuses on three elements: inquiry and other teaching strategies, use of multimedia in teaching and learning, and ways to apply these to enhance specific content knowledge. Course goals include:

• examining techniques for assessing student knowledge;
• identifying and exploring methods for teaching "big ideas" in genetics; and
• finding effective ways to teach about real-world applications of science topics.
