This course focuses on three elements: content knowledge, inquiry and other teaching strategies, and use of multimedia in teaching and learning. Course goals include:
- identifying the basic needs of living things;
- exploring how an organism's structures and functions work together to help it survive;
- understanding the definition of a cell;
- exploring how a cell's structures and functions help it survive;
- examining how to use elements of the scientific process in your teaching; and
- exploring how to use models as you teach life science topics.
