Designing Effective Lessons

This course focuses on three elements: inquiry and other teaching strategies, use of multimedia in teaching and learning, and ways to apply these to enhance specific content knowledge. Course goals include:

• learning how to use backward design to plan or revise a lesson;
• exploring ways to improve the classroom learning environment;
• applying your learning to teaching cell biology, ecology, and other biology topics.
