Assessing Understanding

This course focuses on three elements: inquiry and other teaching strategies, use of multimedia in teaching and learning, and ways to apply these to enhance specific content knowledge. Course goals include:

• exploring how the knowledge students bring with them to a lesson affects their learning; and
• exploring techniques for assessing what students know before, during, and after a lesson.
